We believe that the way to know God is to know Jesus, and that the good news of Jesus is intended for sharing. We want our community and the whole world to know of the hope and freedom that Jesus offers. As Presbyterians, we stand firmly in the Reformed tradition, that is, the Reformation that sought to address the excesses of the medieval church. Themes of the Reformation include the ideas that we are saved only through faith, only in Christ, and only by God's grace, as taught only by Scripture. We humbly follow Jesus and strive to open our doors to all who wish to discover what following Jesus is all about.

ECO stands for the Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians. It is an alliance of churches that allows us to partner with similar congregations as well as maintain a system of accountability. We're not out there "on our own." Rather, we draw on the resources and support of sister congregations in our area. Church of the Living Hope is part of the East Central Presbytery of ECO, a region of churches spanning Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, and Kentucky.
