Welcome! We’re a vibrant church family that believes worship should feel like coming home. Every week, we gather to celebrate God’s love, study the Bible in practical ways, and serve our neighbors with open hearts. We’re small —and growing. You’ll find people of all ages and backgrounds worshipping side-by-side, singing, praying, and laughing together.
Beyond Sunday services, we run small groups (including the Alpha film series, if you’ve heard of that), and get-togethers that make it easy to connect and grow. Whether you’ve followed Jesus for years or you’re simply curious about faith, we’re here to walk alongside you—answering questions, sharing hope, and cheering you on every step of the journey.
We’re pleased to be led by two highly qualified pastors — Pastors Beth Doriani and Bonnie Schaefer. Each has many years of ministry experience.
Pastor Beth is our teaching pastor and gives the message each week. She comes from a background as a teacher — as a professor specializing in poetry. She has experience with Young Life and campus ministry. Beth attended the University of Dubuque Theological School in Dubuque, IA, and was commissioned as a Certified Lay Pastor in 2023. We appreciate her unique style as she draws on both her literary and theological backgrounds. She and her husband Chris have been married for over 30 years and have three adult children.
Our pastors
Pastor Bonnie also has a long history of ministry experience, starting with Young Life and college ministry. Her career path includes leadership in the tech and business world. She has worked for decades as a church leader and, after completing theological education through Flourish Institute, she was commissioned as a Certified Lay Pastor. Bonnie’s background in music ministry equips her to handle the music side of our worship. She and her husband Paul (married over 30 years) have two grown children.
Pastors Beth and Bonnie are a dynamic pair (yes, they are sisters!) who enjoy working with the rest of the leadership team at Church of the Living Hope — believing that the best ministry leadership comes from a collaborative approach.
